Immigrants to Minnesota, USA, from Denmark

The following 3 Danish emigrants are found:

  • Niels Revsbech born in Denmark 11. oct. 1897, living in Burnsville, Dakota, US MN in 1930. Married with Karen, they have 2 children a daughter and a son.
  • Peter Revsbech born in Denmar abt. 1894, arrived to USA 21. mar. 1911, married in 1936 and living in Hennepin, US MN.
  • Anton Revsbech born in Denmark 28. sep 1891, living in Hennepin, US MN in 1930, married with Martha - they have one son.
I am in contact with the Revsbech family in Minnesota and hope to find out if this family are descendants to some or all of the above mentioned. Meanwhile I will continue my research of the danish ancestors to the 3 men listed above.

New genealogical table published

I have updated the genealogic table for my family. You can find an overview in pdf format and a more detailed in html format. Unfourtenately the html version is written in danish - I am planning to set up a version translated to english in near future.

I am now retired, so don't hesitate to contact me if you are living in USA and your family name is Refsbech/Revsbech/Revsbæk - it is the same family - it's just the reverends who first wanted to turn everything to german and later - after 1864 - wanted to turn everything back to danish.

I know some of my ancestors emigtaed to Minnesota in USA early 1900 years.

Our first registered ancestor is born in 1666.

House of the Ancestor

Show full screen map

Chresten Refsbechs house is still standing in Udbyhoej. Picture to the left is "Faergegaarden" as it looked in 2007.

If you zoom in at the map above, you can se the whole farmhouse.

It was a farm, grocery and inn. Chresten also had a ferry boat on Randers Fjord.

The ships heading for Randers were allways anchored at the entry to Randers Fjord waitng for the right wind. The sailors then went to the grocery to buy what they needed like tobacco etc. After the shopping the sailors had a couple of beers in the inn.

So Chresten was a quite wealthy man.

Welcome

...to "The Refsbechs at Randers Fjord"
The Refsbech family has been living near Randers Fjord in Denmark since about 1650. The Family come from the area around Hobro at Mariager Fjord north of Randers Fjord.
The family name is spelled in many ways, but if your surname is Refsbech, Revsbech, Revsbeck or Revsbæk (Revsbaek), then you are most likely a member of the family.
Some members of the family emigrated to Minnesota, USA start of 1900.
If you have any information about descendants of these emigrants I would appreciate if you would write the information at the present blog or contact me by eMail. I will of course also share the information I have about ancestors with you.
Looking forward to see some serious information from you.
